Polymarket is seeking a Sanctions Compliance Officer to build and lead our sanctions program for the U.S. market. This hands-on role sits in the Financial Crimes team, requiring deep OFAC knowledge and a track record in sanctions operations.

You will own policies, controls, and screening across customers and transactions, lead a dedicated team, and collaborate with Legal, Product, Engineering, and Data to embed sanctions controls in onboarding and product flows.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in sanctions or financial crimes with direct responsibility for US sanctions.
• Deep subject matter expertise in OFAC regulations and guidance.
• Experience leading sanctions programs and screening operations in regulated environments.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into practical controls and procedures.
• Experience leveraging AI, automation, and governance for screening workflows.
• Hands-on experience with sanctions screening, investigations, escalations, and QA/QC.
• Experience designing or overseeing sanctions screening systems, including list management and false-positive reduction.
• Experience establishing operational metrics, queue management, and escalation frameworks.
• Experience advising on sanctions risks for customers, counterparties, products, jurisdictions, transactions.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate sanctions risks to senior leadership.
• Ability to scale a sanctions program in a fast-moving business environment.

Responsabilités

• Own and enhance Polymarket US's sanctions framework, governance, and risk assessments.
• Serve as the primary sanctions SME translating OFAC rules into practical controls.
• Own end-to-end sanctions screening across customers, transactions, and counterparties.
• Build and lead the sanctions team with staffing, workflows, and service levels.
• Manage investigation and disposition of sanctions alerts with consistent documentation.
• Develop escalation frameworks for blocked or prohibited activity with Legal leadership.
• Advise on sanctions risks for customers, products, jurisdictions, and new initiatives.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data to embed sanctions controls in onboarding and product flows.
• Establish QA/testing framework to assess controls and improve accuracy.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI while ensuring human oversight and governance.
• Ensure sanctions function remains integrated with KYC, AML Investigations, Fraud, and other teams.
