Job summary

CJ Schwan’s in San Jose, CA seeks an Area Sales & Distribution Manager to lead a high-performing sales and distribution team serving the local area. You will be empowered to develop your team and ensure plans for success are executed to win in the market.

You will manage staff to achieve sales goals, optimize route delivery, and ensure safety and DOT compliance across operations. A CDL B is preferred; a bachelor’s degree is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in sales, sales operations, or route delivery/distribution.
• Bachelor’s degree and sales/DSD experience in the food industry.
• A CDL B is highly preferred (budget to earn within 60 days).
• Understanding of financial/business requirements.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience presenting information to diverse audiences.
• Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff to meet sales and distribution goals and comply with DOT safety practices.
• Maximize sales via in-store promotions and customer service.
• Maximize delivery truck utilization and route efficiency.
• Oversee distribution, truck maintenance, DOT compliance, routing, and trips.
• Recruiting, hiring, training and developing team members.
• Prepare and present financial and KPI reports to management.
• Monitor performance, communicate results, and drive improvements.
• Analyze sales and distribution data to inform decisions.
• Maintain customer relationships across sales, merchandising and ops.
• Ensure compliance with company safety and DOT policies.
• Model conduct aligned with company values and ethics.
• Work in the field at least 3 days a week; occasional overnight travel.
