Job summary

ALS is seeking a Sample Receiving Technician to join our global laboratory team in Texas. You will receive samples from outside clients and field personnel, inspect containers, temperatures, preservatives, and other conditions, and log samples into the LIMS system.

You will transport samples to storage locations and dispose of expired materials, complying with SOPs and QA manuals. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented with strong data-entry skills, familiar with chemical terminology, and able

Qualifications

• Detail oriented – accurately transcribe client chain of custody into the LIMS.
• Good typing and data entry skills.
• Familiarity with chemical symbols and general scientific terminology.
• Ability to communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to multi-task and work as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of EPA methodologies.
• High School Diploma / GED; B.S. in Chemistry or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive samples from outside clients and field service personnel and inspect for proper containers, temperatures, preservatives, etc.
• Log samples into the laboratory LIMS system.
• Transport samples to storage locations and dispose of expired samples.
• Perform other duties as assigned and directed.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, QA manual and ALS Client Service Manual.
