EMSL Analytical, Inc. in Long Island City, NY is seeking a Sample Receiving Data Entry Clerk I to support the laboratory manager and analysts. The role covers shipping, receiving, distributing, and logging in of samples, with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.

You will handle incoming environmental samples, review paperwork, enter Chain of Custody into LIMS, and assist with invoices and client inquiries. Training Mon-Fri; shift Tue-Sat, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; benefits included.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in administration and data entry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to work in a high-volume environment.
• Authorization to work in United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Receive environmental samples from in person customers and shipping carriers.
• Open packages; handle, count, sort environmental samples to ensure sample integrity is retained.
• Review paperwork for all incoming samples to ensure completeness and correctness.
• Enter Chain of Custody into LIMS system for all lab divisions.
• Transfer samples based on priority to appropriate custody locations.
• Generate invoices and reports for clients as needed.
• Assist with customer or client questions via in person, phone, and e-mail.
• Coordinate and perform sample-related activities, including shipping and receiving, processing and administration.
