EMSL ANALYTICAL INC in Rochester, NY is seeking a Part-Time Laboratory Assistant to support the laboratory manager and analysts. The role involves receiving samples, logging, data entry, and preparing final client reports.

The position runs Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with an hourly pay of $18.00. Experience in administration and MS Office is preferred; strong communication with clients is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without sponsorship.
• Some laboratory experience either in academic or commercial setting is a plus.
• Experience in administration, data entry, and customer service.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clientele.
• Ability to work in a high volume environment.
• Ability to stand and sit for various lengths of time.
• Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
• Effective time management, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimal assistance.

Responsabilités

• Receive environmental samples and enter Chain of Custody into LIMS system
• Review paperwork for all incoming samples to ensure completeness and correctness
• Quality control of samples to ensure sample integrity
• Transfer samples based on priority to appropriate custody locations
• Coordinate and perform sample-related activities, including shipping and receiving, processing and administration
• Generate reports, invoices, and enter data produced by analysts into the computer system for the production of the final, client ready report
• Ensure the final report is prepared and that the results are reported to the client in a timely manner
• Assist with internal and external client questions via phone, e-mail, and in person
• Act as a liaison between clients and laboratory staff
• Prepare environmental samples prior to analysis
• Support all sample-related activities, including preservation, preparation, and disposal
• Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed
• Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager
