Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a detail-oriented Sample Processing Associate to support logistics for clinical and toxicology trials. You will log shipments, track samples, and coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely storage and disposal of samples.

You will work with temperature monitoring systems, assist in developing trial-specific workflows, and train new technicians while acting as a key liaison between receiving and senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably life sciences) or equivalent years of experience.
• 1–3 years of sample processing experience in a GLP regulated environment.
• An expert in the end-to-end sample lifecycle.
• Proficient with applicable LIMS software.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and develop ideas/solutions to improve operations.

Responsibilities

• Log shipments and receive samples for clinical and/or toxicology trials, per Bioanalysis priorities.
• Notify manager and sample owner of abnormal receipt conditions for follow up with site/vendor.
• Work with vendor/site/clinical teams to resolve sample discrepancies.
• Ensure alarms from the temperature monitoring system are addressed within expected timeframes.
• Manage sample storage volumes and lifecycle to ensure timely transfer and disposal of eligible samples.
• Assist with development of trial-specific CLW as needed.
• Administer the temperature monitoring system and calibrate cooling devices to ensure proper storage of samples.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings where Sample Processing tasks are discussed.
• Train and onboard new technicians; act as primary contact between receiving team and Sr. Manager of LSO and other areas.
• Coordinate activities of the sample receipt team to meet targeted timelines.
