Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Sample Coordinator to support laboratory operations within the PPD Laboratory Services team. The role involves handling a variety of sample tasks from receipt to disposal, following SOPs, and ensuring quality and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

You will assist in maintaining inventory, labeling, and tracking samples, while collaborating with scientists and other staff to meet regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of related experience or an Associate's degree with 0+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of inventory flow and control is preferred.
• Familiarity with SOPs, CAPAs and regulatory documentation is expected.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.

Responsibilities

• Handle sample and standard tasks including receipt, login, labeling, launching, inventory, transport and check-out.
• Communicate sample status to lab staff and coordinate with teams.
• Guide lab staff in sample procedures and ensure SOP adherence.
• Complete investigation and deviation forms and determine CAPAs.
• Review laboratory requests for compliance with SOPs and train staff on SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
• Respond to environmental alarms and participate in on-call responsibilities.
• Perform tasks accurately, timely and safely.
