Job summary

Charles River Laboratories in Mattawan, MI is seeking a Sample Coordinator I to support the Sample Management team. You will handle shipping, receiving, and storing biological specimens, pull items for requests, and prepare samples for analysis while ensuring compliance with SOPs and regulatory standards.

You will work with potentially hazardous materials, maintain inventory, and participate in process improvements.

Qualifications

• HS/GED/Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels inside and outside the organization.
• Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to learn a validated system.
• Ability to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and short-notice shifts.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Handle shipping, receiving, distributing, and storing biological specimens.
• Pull items to meet requests and prepare samples for analysis.
• Direct specimens to the appropriate area and work with potentially delicate/hazardous materials.
• Perform procedures and document results in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Uphold archive security and maintain material integrity.
• Support inventory management and participate in process improvements.
