Job summary

Actalent in Richmond, VA seeks a Sample Management Coordinator to oversee receipt, logging, storage, and distribution of samples and standards in a regulated lab environment. You will maintain records, track status, follow SOPs, and assist with CAPAs, environmental monitoring, and on-call support.

This contract role offers exposure to clinical processes and opportunities for growth within a large laboratory organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years in sample management, inventory control, or a related field.
• Knowledge of inventory management and sample tracking processes.
• Understanding of laboratory documentation and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to review and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive, log, label, inventory, store, and distribute samples and standards in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and track sample status throughout the laboratory workflow.
• Communicate sample status, issues, and updates clearly and promptly to laboratory staff.
• Support proper sample handling, storage, and documentation practices to maintain quality and compliance.
• Review laboratory requests to ensure they comply with standard operating procedures and sample management requirements.
• Assist with investigations, deviations, corrective actions, and preventive actions (CAPAs) related to sample management.
• Train laboratory personnel on sample management procedures, documentation standards, and storage requirements.
• Respond to environmental monitoring alarms and participate in on-call support as needed.
• Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements in daily work activities.
• Complete assigned work accurately and within established timelines.
