Job summary

LabConnect is seeking a Clinical Sample Specialist to manage samples arriving at the Johnson City site. You will support receiving, storage, onsite processing, and shipments to partner labs, coordinating with CS, STS, and CTM to ensure timely handling.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to use Word/Excel, and familiarity with LIMS. You will perform daily checks, assist with QC, and follow safety protocols, with occasional training and education requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BA/BS in laboratory science, health science, or business; or an associate’s degree with at least 2 years of clinical research, clinical lab, or other relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure tasks and data are completed with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Sample shipment receipt, inbound tracking and breakdown of kits.
• Specimen transport within the facility.
• Order requisition registration and accessioning.
• Specimen labeling.
• Assist with QC of specimens for courier picks, shipments, and destruction.
• Identify sample discrepancies and escalation paths.
• Assist with QC checks on specimens in storage for shipments and destruction.
• Handle, recycle, and dispose of dry ice.
• Storage freezer and refrigerator maintenance.
• Disposal of shipping materials.
• Restock supplies.
• Scan requisitions.
• Reply to emails promptly.
• Complete daily checklists.
• Attend classes incl. dangerous goods training; complete 6 hours CE per year.
• Knowledge of GDP and safety precautions.
