Baker Tilly is seeking a State & Local Tax Senior Manager (Income Franchise) to join its SALT practice in the Southeast United States. You will lead state tax engagements for middle market and Fortune 500 clients, advising on nexus, credits and incentives, and controversy matters.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of SALT experience, CPA/CMI/JD/EA, and proven leadership to mentor junior staff while delivering high-quality client service.

Qualifications

• 4 year degree is required.
• CPA, CMI, JD/Law license or EA is required.
• 8+ years of SALT experience preferred.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic SALT consulting to middle market and Fortune 500 clients to lower tax and ensure compliance.
• Manage multi-state reviews covering income, franchise, sales & use, payroll and property taxes.
• Research nexus and taxability issues and quantify potential liabilities.
• Counsel clients on state tax controversies and prepare ruling requests.
• Lead projects including due diligence and voluntary disclosures, mentoring staff.
