Job summary

Salt City Trucking in Selbyville, DE is seeking a CDL-A Local Live Haul Driver to haul live chickens from area farms to a processing facility. The role offers daily home time and a Monday–Friday schedule. Average pay is about $75,000 per year with a $5,000 bonus and a typical weekly pay around $1,500.

Earn approximately $75,000 per year hauling live chickens from area farms to a processing facility. This dedicated local position offers daily home time, Monday–Friday scheduling, and a $5,000 bonus.

Pay Details

• Average Weekly Pay: Approximately $1,500


• Bonus: $5,000

Job Details

• Pick up and deliver live chickens from poultry farms to the processing facility.


• Operate a flatbed trailer carrying chicken cages.


• Average of approximately 3 inbound loads per day.


• Secure chicken cages to the flatbed using a cheater bar.


• Drive through challenging farm conditions, including grades, bumps, and ditches.


• Live haul experience is preferred but not required.

Shift Details

• Monday–Friday schedule


• Start times between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM


• Required to work 1–2 Saturdays per month


• Home daily


• Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day off

Job Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL


• Minimum 3 months of verifiable Class A CDL experience


• DOT Medical Card


• Clean driving record


• No SAP drivers


• Ability to secure chicken cages and handle a cheater bar


• Ability to safely operate on uneven farm roads and difficult terrain


• Live haul experience preferred, but not required
