Salt City Trucking is seeking a CDL-A Local Live Haul Driver to transport live chickens from area farms to a processing facility in Selbyville, Delaware. The role offers daily home time, paid training opportunities, and holidays off.

Expect to earn about $75,000 per year with a $5,000 bonus, driven by roughly 1,024 miles per week and about 3 inbound loads per day on a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Minimum 3 months of verifiable Class A CDL experience.
• DOT Medical Card required.
• Clean driving record.
• No SAP drivers.
• Ability to secure cages with a cheater bar.
• Ability to drive on difficult farm roads.
• Willingness to perform physically demanding live-haul work.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver live chickens from local poultry farms to the facility.
• Transport chickens using a flatbed trailer.
• Average of 3 inbound loads per day.
• Secure chicken cages to the flatbed using a cheater bar.
• Navigate farm roads with grades, bumps, and ditches.
• Ensure all loads are properly secured.

Earn $75,000 per year transporting live chickens from area farms to a processing facility in Selbyville, Delaware. This dedicated local position offers daily home time, paid training opportunities, and all major holidays off.

Pay Details

• Average Weekly Pay: Approximately $1,500
• Bonus: $5,000
• Miles/Week: Approximately 1,024

Job Details

• Pick up and deliver live chickens from local poultry farms to the facility.
• Transport chickens using a flatbed trailer.
• Average of 3 inbound loads per day.
• Secure chicken cages to the flatbed using a cheater bar.
• Navigate challenging farm roads with grades, bumps, and ditches.
• Ensure all loads are properly secured.
• Live haul experience is preferred but not required.

Shift Details

• Monday–Friday schedule
• Start times between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM
• Home daily
• Required to work 1–2 Saturdays per month
• Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day off
