Job summary

Salt City Trucking is seeking a CDL-A Local Live Haul Driver for home-daily routes with a Monday-Friday schedule. Earn about $80,000 per year plus a $5,000 bonus on a dedicated live haul account, including stop pay and safety training pay.

You will transport live chickens from local farms to the processing facility, operate flatbed trailers, and handle roughly 15–20 stops weekly with load-securement responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 months of verifiable Class A CDL experience.
• Must have a valid DOT Medical Card and clean driving record.
• Ability to safely load and secure live poultry shipments.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver live chickens from local farms to the processing facility.
• Operate flatbed trailers and ensure proper load securement.
• Manage 15–20 stops per week with approx. 1,024 miles/week.
• Complete orientation online and maintain safety standards.

Pay Details

$80,000 Average Annual Pay

• Average Weekly Pay: $1,600
• $5,000 bonus
• Stop pay:
  • 0-1 year: $51
  • 1-3 years: $52
  • 3+ years: $53
• Safety training: $20/hour
• Approximately 1,024 miles/week

Job Details

• Pick up and deliver live chickens from local farms to the processing facility

• Secure chicken cages at farms using a cheater bar
• Farm routes include grades, bumps, and ditches
• Drivers are responsible for proper load securement

Shift Details

• Monday-Friday
• Start times between 12 PM-4 PM
• Home Daily
• Required to work 1-2 Saturdays per month
• Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day off

Job Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
