Job summary

The Newberry Group is seeking skilled Salesforce Business Analysts to support the analysis, documentation, and validation of business and system requirements for Salesforce implementations and enhancements at the Application Sustainment and Production Support Operations team within the Rural Development mission area at the Department of Agriculture (USDA).

This role works closely with senior analysts, developers, and stakeholders to ensure business needs are accurately captured and translated

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience per guidelines.
  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis or IT support.
  • Understanding of BA principles and SDLC.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Basic Salesforce platform concepts and navigation.
  • Proficiency with requirements tracking tools (Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar tools.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in gathering and documenting business and functional requirements through stakeholder interviews and analysis.
  • Support development of user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
  • Maintain requirements traceability and documentation repositories.
  • Translate business needs into Salesforce configurations under guidance.
  • Support Salesforce implementations and document configurations, workflows, and business rules.
  • Participate in stakeholder and technical team meetings; capture notes and action items.
  • Support communication between stakeholders and delivery teams.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and assist with backlog management and task tracking.
  • Ensure requirements are clearly documented and ready for development.
  • Assist in creating test cases and scenarios and support testing (UAT).
  • Document defects and support tracking through resolution.
  • Develop and maintain process flows, requirement documents, and user guides.
  • Support preparation of reports, presentations, and status updates.
  • Ensure documentation complies with standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and support implementation.

Job Summary

Newberry Group is seeking skilled Salesforce Business Analysts to support the analysis, documentation, and validation of business and system requirements for Salesforce implementations and enhancements at the Application Sustainment and Production Support Operations team within the Rural Development mission area at the Department of Agriculture (USDA). This role works closely with senior analysts, developers, and stakeholders to ensure business needs are accurately captured and translated into functional solutions. This role also applies foundational analytical and technical knowledge to support system development, testing, and process improvement activities under general supervision.

Location

This is a full‑time Remote/Telecommute role. The applicant must be a U.S. citizen, reside in the United States and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Salary

$75,000 to $85,000 annually with full benefits

Duration

7‑Month Position, Possible Extension. Full-time benefits available.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Assist in gathering and documenting business and functional requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and analysis

  • Support Salesforce implementations (e.g., Sales Cloud, Service Cloud) and document configurations, workflows, and business rules
  • Participate in meetings with stakeholders and technical teams; capture notes, action items, and follow-ups
  • Support communication and coordination between stakeholders and delivery teams
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and assist with backlog management and task tracking
  • Ensure requirements are clearly documented and ready for development
  • Assist in creating test cases and scenarios and support system and user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Document defects and support tracking through resolution
  • Develop and maintain process flows, requirement documents, user guides, and other documentation
  • Support preparation of reports, presentations, and status updates
  • Ensure documentation complies with organizational and federal standards
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and support implementation efforts
  • Participate in lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives
Basic Qualifications and Skills Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience per GSA guidelines)
  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis, IT support, or a related field
  • Understanding of business analysis principles and software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Knowledge of business analysis techniques and documentation practices
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Basic understanding of Salesforce platform concepts and navigation
  • Proficiency with requirements tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar productivity tools
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work in a dynamic environment
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Preferred Qualifications
  • Salesforce Administrator certification or currently pursuing certification
  • Familiarity with process modeling tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart)
  • Experience supporting federal programs or contracts
  • Experience working in Agile, hybrid, or distributed team environments
