Job summary

Cherokee Federal is seeking a Salesforce Business Analyst to translate federal customer needs into clear, buildable Salesforce solutions and validate them for customer satisfaction. You will join requirements sessions, write user stories with acceptance criteria, map processes, configure Salesforce declaratively, support UAT, and contribute to training and release notes in an Agile environment.

This role requires 1–2 years of BA experience, U.S.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience as a business analyst or in a related role.
• Hands-on familiarity with Salesforce including reports, dashboards, and declarative configuration.
• Experience writing user stories or requirements documentation.
• Experience testing Salesforce solutions and documenting results.
• Understanding of Agile or Scrum workflows.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Join requirements gathering sessions with customers and capture business needs, pain points, and goals.
• Write clear user stories with acceptance criteria for developers.
• Document current and future state process flows with Lucidchart or Visio.
• Map business requirements to Salesforce functionality (objects, fields, page layouts, Flows).
• Declaratively configure the solution to meet acceptance criteria with client sign-off.
• Support user acceptance testing by writing test scripts, running tests, and logging defects.
• Maintain requirements traceability tying stories to customer needs.
• Prepare training materials, user guides, and release notes for end users.
• Assist with data mapping and validation during data migration.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog refinement, standups, demos).
• Keep backlog items organized in Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
• Coordinate UAT activities, test-scenario development, execution support, defect triage, and final sign-off.
• Contribute to change-management activities and executive-ready summaries.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities

• Join requirements gathering sessions with customers and help capture business needs, pain points, and goals
• Write clear user stories with acceptance criteria that developers can build from
• Document current state and future state process flows using tools like Lucidchart or Visio
• Help map business requirements to Salesforce functionality, including objects, fields, page layouts, and Flows
• Declaratively configure the solution, making sure acceptance criteria is met and client signs off on each piece of work.
• Support user acceptance testing by writing test scripts, running tests, and logging defects
• Maintain requirements traceability so every story ties back to a customer need
• Help prepare training materials, user guides, and release notes for end users
• Assist with data mapping and validation during data migration efforts
• Take part in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, standups, and demos
• Keep backlog items organized and up to date in Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools
• Validate requirements and solution designs through walkthroughs, prototypes, iterative stakeholder feedback, and solution demonstrations.
• Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test-scenario development, execution support, defect triage, stakeholder communications, and final sign-off.
• Contribute to change-management activities, including user documentation, training materials, stakeholder communications, executive-ready summaries, and decision-support briefings.
• Present formal and informal oral and written briefings to government managers and senior stakeholders.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: (Basic Qualifications)

• 1 to 2 years of experience as a business analyst, Salesforce admin, quality assurance, or in a similar role
• Hands on familiarity with Salesforce, including standard objects, reports, dashboards, and basic declarative configuration
• Experience writing user stories or requirements documentation
• Experience testing Salesforce solutions and documenting test steps, scripts and outcomes
• Understanding of Agile or Scrum ways of working
• U.S. Citizenship
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; may occasionally require standing or moving about the office for extended periods.
• Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

Preferred Qualifications

• Salesforce Certified Administrator, Associate, or Business Analyst certification
• Exposure to Salesforce Public Sector Solutions, Service Cloud, or Experience Cloud
• Some familiarity with OmniStudio
• Prior work supporting federal or public sector customers
• Active Trailhead profile showing ongoing learning
