Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Tax Manager to oversee multi-state sales and use tax compliance, reporting, and related initiatives. You will interpret complex tax regulations and strengthen internal controls across operations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in SALT, construction industry experience, and a CPA/CMI/EA or equivalent certification. you'll partner with Accounting, Finance, and Operations to drive accurate tax treatment and process improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive tax experience focusing on SALT compliance.
• Previous sales and use tax experience within the construction industry.
• CPA/CMI/EA or equivalent tax certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multi-state sales and use tax compliance, returns, and reporting.
• Guide tax treatment of business transactions, purchases, and expenditures.
• Research and interpret state/local tax regulations to ensure compliance.
• Partner with Accounting, Finance, Operations to resolve tax questions.
• Support tax audits, including responses and workpapers.
• Maintain tax records and schedules for audit readiness.
