Youngstown, OH - Retail shop

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Sales Trainee will participate in a comprehensive training program to gain knowledge of our industry, customers, and organization. This program focuses on sales and professional development, preparing the Trainee to meet challenges in this role. Upon completion, the Trainee is expected to exceed objectives related to sales growth, profitability, and A/R management within their territory. The Trainee must be capable of selling all Airgas products to their customer base.

  • Travel throughout the assigned territory to call on current and prospective customers.
  • Develop and implement plans to maintain and grow the existing customer base.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with internal departments regarding customer successes, issues, and new developments.
  • Create and execute strategies to increase Airgas market share within the territory.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations and proposals to potential customers.
  • Qualify and pursue sales leads from other Airgas departments.
  • Keep management informed of territory performance, personal achievements, and market trends through reports such as itineraries, call reports, and sales activity logs.
  • Develop and submit an annual sales plan for the territory.
  • Submit required reports timely, including activity logs, prospect lists, and account updates.
  • Lead organizational initiatives through transparent communication with colleagues.
  • Prioritize safety by adhering to company safety policies.

Are you a MATCH?

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business or Sales.
  • Effective networking and negotiation skills; strong verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and territory management skills; goal-oriented, self-motivated, with leadership qualities.
  • Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and insurance.
  • Aspiring to build a career in outside sales and sales leadership.
  • Willingness to work onsite and travel locally.
