Job summary

Airgas is hiring a Sales Support Specialist in Hammond, IN to partner with the sales team and advance customer service excellence. You will support order entry, quotations, account setup, and full order lifecycle management in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 3+ years of customer service experience.
• Effective verbal and written communication across departments and with external partners.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and precision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Suite; ERP/CRM experience preferred (SAP, Salesforce).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with prioritization and take initiative.
• Creative problem-solving to meet customer needs and timelines.

• Experience supporting inclusive environments and collaborating across teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with outside sales and branch teams by providing administrative support such as order entry, quotations, and account setup.
• Manage full order lifecycle including processing, modifications, and cancellations with real-time tracking.
• Monitor back-order statuses and communicate timelines, providing delivery proof to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with logistics teams and vendors to meet customer needs with precision.
• Serve as a main point of contact for internal and external inquiries, resolving issues with first-contact resolution where possible.
• Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and align workflows for efficiency.
• Support Sales Support Manager through cross-training and collaboration.
• Develop relationships with vendors to confirm product availability and transparent pricing for clients.
