Job Description:

Each year, Scholastic Book Fairs, in partnership with schools across the country, hosts more than 100,000 book-sale events that give over 35 million students and their families access to affordable, educational products, fostering a lifelong love of reading.

We are seeking Sales Support Reps to grow the Book Fair business. These full-time roles offer benefits including medical, dental, vision, paid time off (vacation, personal days, sick leave), a 50% discount on Scholastic merchandise, a 401k plan, and summer off.

This position is remote, allowing you to work from home.

Qualified candidates will collaborate with Fair Consultants on specific tasks supporting territory goals. Responsibilities include customer communication (inbound/outbound), Salesforce documentation, and other duties assigned by the Territory Manager to support business results.

Successful Sales Support Reps will gain experience and skills to advance to roles such as Fair Consultants.

Note: This role is open to candidates outside Colorado, California, New York, and Washington. The following information applies only to those hired in these states.

The estimated pay range is:

$32,500 - $45,000

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Market and Event Support

• Support book fair activities, including scheduling, appointment setting, during-event calls, post-event follow-up, and other tasks.
• Assist with order management: follow-ups, additions, restocks, etc.
• Coordinate with branch and transportation teams regarding operational needs and customer expectations.
• Support promotion, marketing initiatives, and event success strategies.
• Utilize technology to manage sales and service records, prioritize tasks, and cover territories as needed.

Customer Focus

• Build relationships with schools, districts, and parent organizations.
• Deliver excellent customer service and address concerns promptly.

Teamwork

• Maintain regular communication with the team and manager.
• Share calendar and notes within Salesforce to ensure coordination.
• Collaborate to meet operational and sales goals.

Functional Expertise/Personal Effectiveness

• Support Scholastic's mission and values.
• Adapt to changing priorities and attend events as required.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; BA/BS preferred.
• Basic math and computer skills, attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM (basic to intermediate).
• 2+ years sales or customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of children’s literature, Book Fairs, or school activities is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, customer-focused.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure, multi-task, and work flexible hours.
• Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
