Job summary

Ferguson in Dayton, OH is seeking a hands-on Sales Support Representative to help customers and learn the business from the ground up. You will partner with Sales associates to recommend products and ensure accurate quotes and orders.

Starting pay is $21 per hour, with hours Monday–Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Role includes warehouse, yard, and counter duties and requires strong customer service skills and basic Microsoft Office knowledge.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of sales and/or customer service experience preferred.
• Waterworks or construction environment experience is a plus.
• Warehouse experience is preferred.
• College degree preferred.
• Ability to upsell and respond quickly to customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Support Sales associates to determine best products and solutions for customers.
• Provide timely quotations and accurate sales orders to ensure personalized service.
• Coordinate deliveries on behalf of customers.
• Answer sales calls and resolve customer questions or concerns.
• Learn and use CRM and phone systems; work in warehouse, pipe yard and at the sales counter.

Responsibilities

• Work together with Sales associates to support customer needs by determining the best products and solutions.
• Ensuring the delivery of personalized customer service through timely quotations and accurate sales orders.
• Coordinate deliveries on behalf of customers.
• Answer sales calls for general information, addressing and resolving customer concerns or questions.
• Ability to effectively use customer relationship management (CRM) system and phone system.
• Responsibilities include training and working in the warehouse, pipe yard and at the sales counter.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of sales and/or customer service experience is preferred
• Prior experience in waterworks or a construction environment is a plus
• Prior warehouse experience is preferred
• Must be comfortable performing physically demanding work
• Ability to transition between warehouse, yard, counter, and administrative duties as needed
• A college degree or bachelor’s degree is preferred
• Exhibit strong skills for sales, including the ability to upsell
• Proven track record of responding quickly to customer needs and ability to make decisions in a timely manner
• Ability to react well in a fast‑paced environment & follow through on commitments
• Highly motivated and customer service oriented mentality with ability to build relationships is a plus
• General digital literacy including Microsoft Office
• Ability to quickly learn product knowledge and processes
