Job summary

TOMRA Food in the United States seeks a Sales Application Support Engineer to partner with Customers, Sales and Service, delivering application-driven solutions that grow business. You will combine engineering expertise, customer insight and hands-on problem solving to maximize value of TOMRA technologies through testing, demos, data analysis and technical consultation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related engineering field.
• 2+ years of experience in Application Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Technical Sales Support, or related technical field; recent graduates with strong engineering foundation are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales Managers and customers to understand products, processing challenges, and goals to define application requirements and recommend TOMRA solutions.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout the pre-sales process, providing application expertise and engineering support to support new business opportunities.
• Conduct machine demonstrations, customer trials during sales presentations, and proof-of-concept testing in TOMRA facilities and customer environments.
• Design, coordinate, and execute application tests to evaluate machine performance, validate solutions, and identify opportunities for optimization.
• Analyze test and operational data, develop technical recommendations, and prepare clear reports that support customer decision‑making and sales activities.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and optimize sorting equipment to ensure accurate testing, demonstration results, and application performance.
• Own and maintain application knowledge and machine performance standards, ensuring application packages, best practices, and performance documentation are available to support Sales, Service, and Customer Solution Delivery teams.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including application reports, test results, recommendations, training materials, and procedures to support customer projects and internal knowledge sharing.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
