J. F. Ahern, a family-owned mechanical and fire protection contractor with 145+ years of experience, invites you to join our Milwaukee sales team.

In this Sales, Service role you’ll manage an established book of business, pursue new accounts, and drive growth through proactive planning and collaboration. You’ll lead efforts in contract negotiations, claims resolution, and identifying future work while guiding project teams from capture to completion.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of sales experience in fire protection or mechanical service/construction.
• Strong customer service, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; self-starter and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Develop sales plans and objectives for new work and accounts.
• Negotiate contracts, handle claims, and identify future opportunities to grow the book of business.

How you will contribute:

This is a great opportunity to take over an established, consistent book of business with an opportunity to also identify new business opportunities and establish new accounts for both new construction and service contracts. You will develop sales plans and objectives regarding new work, contract negotiation, claims resolution, and future work potential. This position also serves as the team project leader during work acquisition and project execution while utilizing sales tools to plan and document progress as well as increase business opportunity in accounts.

What you need to qualify:

Ahern will help make the most of your previous fire protection or mechanical service/ construction experience. Prior experience in sales, the level of which is likely attained with2 plus years related work experience is preferred. Successful candidates will have demonstrated excellence in customer service, organization and communication skills. You can stand out above other candidates by demonstrating the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven work environment. Being a self-starter and possessing the ability to work independently will be essential.
