Job summary

Optics11 Life is seeking a Sales Representative to build a pipeline and develop new markets for cutting-edge biotech instruments in the US. You will engage scientists and industry partners, translating challenges into technology-driven solutions and acting as a technology ambassador.

You will report to the Sales Manager and operate remotely across time zones, with substantial West Coast travel. The role demands 3–5 years in life sciences sales and strong CRM proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; advanced Life Sciences degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of life sciences sales experience in pharma/biotech/research.
• Proven ability to win new business and expand client networks.
• Strong CRM skills and ability to forecast pipelines.
• Willingness to travel 50–75% on the West Coast.

Responsibilities

• Build and run a pipeline of new opportunities in the territory.
• Qualify opportunities and bring in Field Application Scientist for depth.
• Represent Optics11 Life at conferences and customer sites.
• Keep the CRM up to date daily; feed input back to product and marketing.
• Act with independence and ownership to structure and lead your work.

As a Sales Representative, you identify and develop new business opportunities, connect with scientists and industry partners across diverse disciplines, and translate their challenges into solutions using our advanced measurement instruments. As both a commercial driver and a technology ambassador, you position Optics11 Life as the leading partner for innovative, high-impact research.

You report to our Sales Manager, based in the UK, and run your territory independently. In the US, you are part of a team including our other Sales Representative and our local Field Application Scientists.

• Build and run a pipeline of new opportunities in the territory, including prospecting new leads
• Qualify opportunities and bring in our Field Application Scientist for technical depth
• Represent Optics11 Life at conferences and customer sites
• Keep the CRM up to date daily; Feed customer input back to product and marketing

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in Life Sciences or Biomedical Sciences preferred
• 3-5 years of sales experience in the scientific or life sciences industry, selling to pharma, biotech, research laboratories, and academic institutions
• Proven ability to win new business and expand client networksAbility to engage researchers on complex scientific questions and connect diverse customer needs with high-tech measurement instruments
• Quick learner with the ability to master technical information and new systems
• Proficiency in using CRM systems to manage customer relationships, sales pipelines and forecasting
• 50-75% travel on the West Coast, including regular overnight stays for conferences and remote customers
• Comfortable working remotely and independently across time zones, while proactively communicating, collaborating asynchronously, and staying connected to the wider team
