Your resume and cover letter, tailored to exactly what they’re hiring for.
VELUX in Albany seeks a driven Sales Representative to own and grow an assigned territory, building relationships with dealers, builders and architects. You will manage opportunities, deliver product demonstrations and work closely with customers to identify optimal solutions.
Ideal candidates combine industry knowledge with strong communication, planning and self-motivation, and you should be comfortable working in the field and lifting materials as needed.
Starting Monthly Salary: $4,813–$6,017
Compensation is based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
As a Sales Representative for VELUX, you’ll take ownership of an assigned Albany territory and play a key role in growing our skylight business and expanding our market share.
You’ll work directly with dealers, builders, contractors, remodelers, roofers and architects — helping them discover the value of VELUX products and identifying new opportunities to grow the business.
This is a highly visible, relationship-driven field sales role where you’ll have the freedom to manage your territory, develop your own opportunities and make a measurable difference.
Develop and execute an annual territory plan focused on the customers, markets and opportunities with the greatest potential for growth.
You’ll spend significant time in the field:
You’ll become a trusted resource for our customers by providing product training and practical guidance on the application and installation of VELUX products.
You’ll also support contractors with in-home selling opportunities, helping them confidently present VELUX solutions to homeowners and close additional business.
No two days will be the same. In addition to managing your territory, you may support field service activities, customer events, local trade shows and training sessions alongside other VELUX Sales Representatives.
You’ll manage your territory budget responsibly, track your activities and opportunities, and use sales data to help focus your time where it can have the greatest impact.
We're looking for someone who is commercially driven, curious and great with people.
You don't need to have a traditional sales background to succeed here. Experience in sales is helpful, but we're equally interested in people who understand the building industry and have the drive, communication skills and confidence to build a career in field sales.
You might come from a background in construction, roofing, remodeling, building products, architecture or another trade — or you may already be an experienced salesperson looking for greater ownership of a territory.
A Bachelor's degree or trade school training, combined with knowledge of the building industry, is preferred.
You’ll need to be comfortable working in real-world building environments and able to perform essential physical activities including lifting, reaching, stooping, climbing and handling materials weighing more than 50 pounds.
This is an opportunity to take real ownership of a territory, build a strong network of customers and become a trusted partner within the building industry.
If you're energized by meeting customers, finding opportunities, winning new business and seeing the results of your work in the field, we'd love to hear from you.
