Job description

A Sales Representative (Digital) role (what we internally call a ‘Digital Sales Specialist’) at Red Hat involves leading prospective clients through Red Hat’s extensive portfolio to help solve real-world challenges. You’ll directly impact their adoption of next-generation cloud platforms to develop, run, and manage workloads for some of the world’s most transformative enterprises and influential brands.

Your role and responsibilities

Note: This role requires the ability to be in the Austin, TX IBM office four (4) days each week.

As a Digital Sales Specialist, you will become a trusted expert in identifying, developing, and closing opportunities for Red Hat. You will have access to various resources across the sales team to support client engagement throughout the buying journey. Your achievements will contribute to your career growth and our clients’ success. A typical day may include:

  1. Understanding your prospective clients’ buying cycles to predict deal potential and timing, and communicating forecasts to stakeholders at all levels.
  2. Supporting your team of Business Development, Marketing, and Technical colleagues to identify and create up-/cross-sell opportunities within your territory.
  3. Working with Marketing and Sales leadership to activate targeted new business campaigns.
  4. Collaborating with your team to design use-cases and proofs of concept in response to RFIs.
  5. Presenting compelling value propositions to clients, highlighting product features, functionalities, and solutions.
  6. Interacting with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating technical expertise, passion for open source, and understanding of enterprise business and IT challenges.
Minimum and preferred qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED (required)
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Technical and professional expertise:

  • Experience in consultative selling of technology solutions against complex use cases.
  • Proficiency with digital sales tools and techniques (phone, CRM, social media, email).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision-making examples.
  • Experience in solution sales, cold calling, and lead generation.
  • Ability to understand customer objectives and craft narratives addressing these challenges.
  • Knowledge of sales tools like Salesforce, SalesLoft, Outreach.

Preferred experience:

  • 5-7 years in a solutions sales role.
  • Proven technical sales experience in enterprise infrastructure and cloud software.
  • Experience building relationships and growing existing accounts.
  • Deep knowledge of the Cloud market, with training provided on Red Hat offerings.
