Job summary

Clayco SEI is seeking a Sales Development Manager to translate sales leads into executable pursuits. You will coordinate SEI Sales, Preconstruction, Operations and Procurement to ensure opportunities are properly scoped, risk-assessed, and positioned for execution.

You will own internal coordination from site visits to handoffs, reporting to the VP of Sales, and ensuring alignment across teams. The role requires travel nationwide, strong experience in pursuit management, and proficiency with CRM

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in construction/engineering/business.
• 5–8 years in construction, preconstruction, or project development roles.
• Background in sales coordination, estimating support, or pursuit management.
• Familiarity with electrical/MEP scopes.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specs.
• Ability to assess scope feasibility and coordinate bids/estimates.
• Experience tracking pursuit milestones and schedules.
• Proficiency with CRM and project management software (Procore, Salesforce).
• Strong cross-functional communication across Sales, Preconstruction, and Operations.
• Go/No-Go readiness assessment and risk evaluation.
• Ability to manage multiple pursuits and coordinate deadlines.
• Escalation of risks and alignment gaps across teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and potential execution strategies.
• Define scopes of work for SEI involvement in pursuits.
• Develop scope feasibility assessments with Preconstruction and Operations.
• Assess contract structures and delivery model implications.
• Create milestone-driven handoff packages to Preconstruction.
• Present readiness assessments to the VP of Sales.
• Monitor capacity and readiness for each opportunity.
• Coordinate across SEI Precon, Ops, Procurement, and Clayco leadership.
• Manage multiple pursuits with documented scope narratives.
• Identify and escalate resource constraints and scope risks.
• Engage with clients, partners, and internal leadership on pursuits and strategy.
• Maintain weekly updates with the VP of Sales and contribute to pipeline reporting.
