Accountable for serving client families by making at-need cemetery arrangements and selling pre-need arrangements. The Family Service Counselor provides personalized service and plays a key role in generating revenue and acting as the primary contact for families.

Job Responsibilities

Lead Generation

• Prospect for 1-2 hours daily
• Obtain referrals from families
• Build community and civic relationships
• Present to families and referred prospects
• Track activity levels for productivity

Build Relationships with Families

• Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries
• Listen and communicate honestly and empathetically
• Understand family needs and offer solutions
• Maintain contact to ensure satisfaction
• Prepare thoroughly for appointments
• Follow up on requests and issues
• Build trust and earn referrals
• Educate families on pre-planning benefits

Teamwork

• Coordinate services from at-need to aftercare
• Collaborate with funeral and cemetery staff
• Review previous family contacts to support current needs
• Share family concerns with team

Minimum Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of college or equivalent experience

Experience

Licenses

• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
