The position is remote. Compensation depends on experience, knowledge, and capabilities.

Summary

The Inside Sales Representative handles proactive telephone and email sales and marketing efforts to increase profitable sales. Responsibilities include maintaining customer relationships, processing quotes and orders, gaining product knowledge, and prospecting for growth from existing customers.

What You'll Do
  • Process telephone orders, quote prices, delivery specs, and payment terms, and suggest substitutes when appropriate.
  • Assist outside sales and strategic account managers with priority transactions.
  • Use digital tools to sell, market, demonstrate products, answer technical questions, and increase sales to new and existing customers.
  • Prospect for new accounts nationally within the commercial construction sector.
  • Manage a customer base and build relationships.
  • Evaluate customer operations to identify needs, close orders, and resolve issues using root-cause analysis.
  • Handle product quotations and proposals, following up throughout the purchasing cycle.
  • Report on market trends, competitors, pricing, and products.
  • Participate in product meetings, seminars, and training to enhance knowledge.
  • Utilize personal and internal resources to pursue product applications.
  • Collaborate with the national commercial construction team and regional teams to service national customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 2 years of contractor customer service, sales, or electrical distribution experience.
  • Experience managing large commercial contracts and high-value projects.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to handle basic/intermediate issues.
  • Product and application knowledge.
  • Positive attitude, customer focus, excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and familiar with Microsoft Office, ERP, and CRM systems.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
Working Conditions

Includes exposure to high noise, heat, cold, potentially dangerous equipment, and travel to offsite locations. Physical demands include sitting, walking, using hands, climbing, and lifting up to 25 pounds frequently.
