GSMS is seeking a Sales Operations Manager in Camarillo, CA to drive portfolio management, sales planning, and demand planning across Direct and Indirect lines. You will connect Business Development, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Sales to translate market intelligence into reliable sales plans and sustained growth.

You will lead forecasting accuracy initiatives, partner across functions, and support new product launches while delivering actionable performance insights to guide strategic decisions.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years leading a commercial/sales ops function in pharma/biotech or related industry.
  • Strong data understanding and ability to leverage industry data.

Responsibilities

  • Execute demand planning methodology and KPI framework (accuracy, bias, metrics).
  • Oversee monthly demand plan with market-informed perspective considering field intel, portfolio trends, and seasonality.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Business Development, Marketing, Finance, and Sales to align demand and address at-risk inventory.
  • Support new product launches, base portfolio management, and day-to-day commercial team support.
  • Translate product strategies into executable sales plans and monitor market share targets.
  • Deliver performance reporting and analyses to support strategic decisions.
  • Identify pricing friction, inventory constraints, and resource gaps; coordinate resolution.

Job description

The Sales Operations Manager serves the commercial organization, driving portfolio management, sales planning, and demand planning across both Direct and Indirect product lines. This role is a critical link between Business Development, Supply Chain, Marketing, and the Sales team, translating market intelligence, opportunity, and sales execution data into reliable, well-managed sales and demand plans that keep the portfolio positioned for execution and sustained growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for executing the demand planning methodology, forecast accuracy standards, model management, and KPI framework, including accuracy, bias, and sales-related metrics.
  • Overseeing the Sales Ops Analyst ensuring the monthly demand plan reflects a market-informed perspective that accounts for field intelligence, portfolio trends, and seasonality with a focus on improved forecast accuracy and process excellence.
  • Review, validate, and present the monthly demand plan outlining top drivers and key call outs.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Business Development, Marketing, Finance, and Sales to align demand assumptions and proactively address at-risk inventory positions.
  • Supporting department specialists with new product launches and strategy, base portfolio management, sales plan tracking, and day-to-day commercial team support.
  • Translate product strategies into clear, executable sales plans. Supporting target market share and sales plan strategies set by department specialists.
  • Deliver cadenced and ad hoc performance reporting and product and market analyses; providing actionable insights that support strategic decision-making and commercial accountability.
  • Identify and escalation pricing friction, inventory constraints, and resource gaps that impede sales execution; coordinate with cross-functional partners to resolve.
Required Qualifications
  • BA or BS degree (MBA or advanced degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience leading a commercial/ sales operations function within a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company or related industry with demonstrated mastery of analytical responsibilities
  • Strong and deep understanding of industry data and effective utilization of data
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to work in a fluid environment with conflicting priorities, manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
  • High level of personable accountability, responsibility and integrity with the ability to set and hold themselves and others to high standards
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI
  • Experience in Sales Effectiveness including Sales Incentives
  • Tangible experience in forecasting and Machine Learning models

Supervision: Received: Director, Sales Operations & Communications Given: Sr. Sales Operations Analyst The hiring range for this position in Camarillo, CA is $115,000 to $130,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills and experience among other factors. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of other health and welfare benefits.
