POSITION SUMMARY:
WRM is seeking a motivated, creative, and results-oriented Sales & Marketing Intern to participate in a 10–12 week internship program supporting the company's Sales and Marketing functions. This internship provides hands‑on exposure to business development, customer engagement, market research, sales strategy, marketing initiatives, brand development, and the overall customer lifecycle within a growing environmental services organization.
The selected intern will work alongside experienced Sales, Marketing, and Customer Experience professionals and will be paired with a mentor throughout the program to provide guidance, professional development, and hands‑on learning opportunities.
As a key component of the internship, the Sales & Marketing Intern will complete a capstone project focused on identifying an opportunity to improve customer engagement, expand market awareness, strengthen the sales process, or support business growth. The project should include measurable objectives and actionable recommendations. At the conclusion of the internship, the intern will present their findings and recommendations to company leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day Sales and Marketing activities and initiatives.
- Support market research to identify potential customers, industries, market segments, and business development opportunities.
- Assist with lead generation, prospect research, and maintaining accurate customer and prospect information.
- Support outbound sales and customer outreach initiatives as assigned.
- Assist with preparing sales presentations, customer materials, proposals, and other business development resources.
- Support the development and execution of marketing campaigns and promotional initiatives.
- Assist with creating and organizing marketing content, communications, presentations, and collateral.
- Research industry trends, competitors, customer needs, and market opportunities.
- Assist with analyzing sales and marketing data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Gain exposure to CRM systems and the processes used to track leads, customer interactions, opportunities, and sales activity.
- Participate in Sales, Marketing, and Customer Experience meetings and cross‑functional business discussions.
- Collaborate with other departments to better understand WRM's services, customers, operational capabilities, and overall business model.
- Assist with special projects related to customer engagement, business development, marketing, sales strategy, and process improvement.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and summaries for Sales and Marketing leadership.
- Work with an assigned mentor to gain practical knowledge of sales, marketing, customer engagement, and professional business practices.
- Complete a capstone project focused on creating a measurable and impactful improvement to a Sales or Marketing process, strategy, or initiative.
- Present capstone findings, recommendations, and anticipated business impact to company leadership at the conclusion of the internship.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled full‑time as a Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Strong interest in sales, marketing, business development, customer experience, or related business functions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop ideas and communicate them effectively.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Comfortable communicating professionally with internal teams, customers, and prospective customers.
- Ability to conduct research, organize information, and communicate findings clearly.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness to learn, ask questions, receive feedback, and take initiative.
- Must be living in the Houston, Texas area for the duration of the internship program.

Physical Requirements
This role primarily operates in a professional office environment. The intern may occasionally participate in company site tours, customer visits, industry events, or operational visits and may be required to wear appropriate PPE while visiting operational facilities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
