Job summary

Merrill Manufacturing is seeking a Sales Intern to gain hands-on experience alongside seasoned sales professionals. You’ll contribute to real projects supporting business growth and learn the full sales process from market research to customer engagement and strategy.

You’ll develop communication, problem-solving, and business skills while understanding how a successful sales organization drives results.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Management, Communications, or a related field.
  • Must be entering sophomore year or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and research prospective customers to support sales and business development.
  • Assist with lead generation activities and customer outreach campaigns.
  • Participate in customer meetings, product demonstrations, and sales presentations.
  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends, customer needs, and growth opportunities.
  • Create and update sales materials, presentations, and marketing resources.
  • Learn to use CRM and ERP systems to manage customer relationships and track sales activities.
  • Analyze sales data and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Build relationships with customers via phone, email, virtual meetings, and in-person interactions.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, customer service, and operations to enhance the customer experience.
  • Assist customers by identifying solutions that meet their needs.
  • Shadow experienced sales professionals and learn consultative selling techniques and account management.
  • Participate in coaching and training opportunities and contribute to key projects.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

As a Sales Intern at Merrill Manufacturing, you'll gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced sales professionals while contributing to real projects that support business growth. This internship offers exposure to the full sales process—from market research and lead generation to customer engagement and sales strategy. WORK RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
  • Support sales and business development efforts by identifying and researching prospective customers.
  • Assist with lead generation activities and customer outreach campaigns.
  • Participate in customer meetings, product demonstrations, and sales presentations.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Management, Communications, or a related field.
  • Must be entering sophomore year or higher.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Must have the right to legally work in the United States.

Must have transportation to and from work. Housing offered if needed.
