Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled full-time as a Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily operational activities and special projects.
  • Support route planning and route optimization efforts to improve efficiency and service delivery.
  • Analyze operational data, travel patterns, and service schedules to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in field travel to WRM facilities, customer sites, and operational locations.
  • Conduct site visits and observe field operations to understand workflows.
  • Assist with tracking KPIs and preparing operational reports.
  • Support fleet utilization, scheduling, and logistics-related initiatives.
  • Help create presentations, dashboards, and summaries for operations leadership.
  • Participate in operational meetings and document action items.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Environmental Compliance, Maintenance, and other departments on cross-functional projects.
  • Support safety and compliance initiatives by maintaining records and assisting with audits and inspections.
  • Research industry best practices and recommend process improvements.

Position Summary

WRM is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Operations Intern to support daily operations, route planning and optimization, field activities, and continuous improvement initiatives. This internship provides hands‑on exposure to wastewater operations, logistics coordination, operational performance metrics, safety programs, and environmental compliance. The selected intern will work alongside operations leadership and field personnel while gaining practical experience in a fast-paced environmental services organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily operational activities and special projects.

Physical Requirements

This role involves both office and field environments. The intern may occasionally visit operational facilities and must be able to wear required PPE, walk facility grounds, and lift up to 25 pounds.
