  • Directly responsible for organizing and managing the solicitation of new accounts and incoming leads with 24 or fewer rooms per night.
  • Selling for IHG preferred.
  • Selling all markets—SMERF, Association, Corporate, and Government.
Responsibilities and Authorities:
  • Solicit and develop new business accounts.
  • Maximize potential room revenues through upselling.
  • Achieve guest satisfaction via product knowledge and honest communication.
  • Support staff personnel.
  • Maintain client relations with current accounts.
  • Train and retrain department associates as needed.
  • Maintain professionalism at all times as an agent of the hotel.
  • Promote hotel rooms, outlets, and facilities.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma and at least two years of college, preferably in business or hospitality.
  • Five to ten years in hospitality, with at least three years in Sales and Catering.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Specific Duties:
  • Make 10-15 direct sales calls weekly to local and out-of-market clients.
  • Conduct 25-30 telephone solicitations weekly.
  • Arrange five lunch appointments or site inspections weekly.
  • Participate in trade shows and industry organizations as per the Marketing Action Plan.
  • Develop and participate in local and out-of-market sales blitzes, ensuring follow-up through telemarketing, correspondence, and direct solicitation.
  • Act as an in-house sales representative, qualifying inquiries and showcasing the hotel via site inspections.
  • Use the MOST system daily for tracking and reporting efforts.
  • Maintain knowledge of the hotel reservation system and prepare monthly marketing recaps.
  • Achieve budgeted goals for occupancy, rate, and profit through active solicitation and adherence to the Marketing Action Plan.
  • Develop specific areas of the Marketing Action Plan, including market analysis and budgeting.
  • Prepare month-end revenue reports and marketing recaps, analyzing past efforts for future planning.
  • Maintain accurate group room information and utilize GRC for maximum sales efficiency.
  • Send timely correspondence, proposals, and follow-ups; submit weekly sales call reports and monthly revenue recaps.
  • Participate actively in weekly sales meetings and staff sessions.
  • Promote guest satisfaction initiatives such as the Sheraton STAR program.
  • Handle injury reports and follow-up with personnel.
  • Perform one MOD shift per month or as needed.
  • Know fire and evacuation procedures, fire panel operation, and emergency response protocols.
