Sales Manager Bench (Finance)



Participate in on-the-job training experiences for the Sales Manager role, learn new skills about senior living, and demonstrate increasing proficiency and expertise in sales and marketing responsibilities within the Brookdale organization. The Brookdale Bench Program prepares you to assume the Sales Manager role at one of our communities.

  1. Occupancy and Sales Management: Maintain or improve community occupancy levels in accordance with marketing and business plans. Utilize established sales processes, systems, and forms for sales duties, tracking information, compiling data and reports, and achieving community occupancy goals.
  2. Prospective Resident Engagement: Manage the sales process by assisting prospective residents, their families, and advisors in decision-making, understanding their needs, and educating them about community services and programs. Respond promptly to inquiries via phone, email, internet, or in person. Conduct follow-up calls, letters, and tours as per the marketing plan.
  3. Sales Activities and Follow-up: Coordinate and complete all activities needed for a sale, including visiting prospects' homes or other locations, conducting assessments or presentations, and ensuring required forms are completed prior to move-in. Keep management informed of prospective move-in statuses and track pre-residency steps.
  4. Business Development: Collaborate with the business development team weekly to meet or exceed lead generation goals. Contact local sources such as legal, financial professionals, senior organizations, hospitals, and community groups. Manage business development activities in the absence of dedicated staff.
  5. Community Relations and Marketing: Develop relationships with residents, families, and referral sources. Provide information and conduct presentations on community services, market advantages, and availability. Represent the community at outside events and participate in community involvement activities.
  6. Revenue and Inventory Management: Manage community inventory, identify opportunities for revenue growth, and create additional revenue streams. Assist in developing and executing marketing plans, including content and delivery of promotional materials.
  7. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor sales performance, analyze data, and prepare weekly and monthly reports. Use lead management systems effectively, inputting all activities timely and according to system standards.
  8. Additional Responsibilities: Support resident retention programs, participate in resident events, and assist management in achieving occupancy and sales goals. Maintain knowledge of sales systems and tools.
