The Sales Manager, Americas is responsible for growing sales revenue through multiple direct and indirect sales channels for the Southworth product line. The Sales Manager, Americas will oversee a team of sales professionals with specialties in different product lines who are aligned with different sales channels including Regional Sales Managers and OEM sales professionals to achieve growth objectives and to develop critical business partnerships within the vertical lift manufacturing industry. The Sales Manager, Americas will foster relationships within the channels and collaborate with internal resources to ensure effective partnership within the design and manufacturing teams to ensure optimal client delivery, and with other commercial teams to ensure effective product positioning and lead-generation opportunities are optimized to support team goals.

As a member of the AMS revenue generation team, the Sales Manager, Americas objective is the overall success of the Southworth product line in alignment with the Global SIGI strategic plan and talent strategies. The position is based virtually, with a preference to be located in Eastern or Central time zones to align with key business hours (Mountain time will be considered.)

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure departmental productivity and performance measures are consistently fulfilled. Coach team and assist as needed with closing key prospects or partnerships
  • Identifies and pursues new customer opportunities and strengthens existing relationships through effective sales partnerships and strategic product offerings, leveraging the full suite of Southworth products
  • In partnership with other commercial teams such as marketing, identify best practices to foster and capitalize upon lead generation activity within the commercial umbrella. Using business tools and first-hand observation, analyze market competition, market trends, and identify client needs. Maintain relevant knowledge of market intelligence and industry trends
  • Ensure departmental compliance with CRM utilization. Maintain a thorough working proficiency in data integrity and management
  • Performs all other duties as assigned and as responsibilities including but not limited to attending all required in-services, training, meetings

Qualifications- Skills & Experience:

  • Advanced level of business acumen and experience within the manufacturing industry
  • 5+ years of experience leading sales professionals. Proven track record of leading and building a successful sales team
  • Broad understanding of material handling industry including knowledge of vertical lift product lines
  • Effective pipeline management leadership through the sales team by leveraging the CRM system (salesforce.com) to ensure compliance
  • Proven sales channel management experience, including direct and indirect sales channels
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present at external events and key speaking engagements
  • Superior interpersonal, communications, flexibility, and conflict management skills
  • Proven strategic thinking and proactive problem-solving skills, demonstrating a sense of urgency. Ability to triage and prioritize
  • Solid collaboration skills with key stakeholders across business groups to deliver key outcomes, ensuring a balanced perspective and win-win outcomes
  • Excellent networking and interpersonal skills as well as strong prioritization and organizational skills and initiative
  • Proficient computer skills – especially Microsoft Suite of applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and SalesForce.com systems
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
