SUMMARY

Develop new market channels and distribution networks for JLG. Aggressively promote all JLG products, including Aerial Work Platforms (Boom lifts, Scissors, Vertical Lift, and Telehandlers), in the Japanese market and enhance JLG brand awareness. Lead total account management with customers in Japan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop new channels for Japan (dealers, partners, and end-user customers). Maintain comprehensive Business Planning Documents for accounts (Sales function).
  2. Analyze and report on market trends, potentials, and sales forecasts.
  3. Recommend changes, additions, improvements, or deletions for assigned products in line with JLG's product lifecycle management.
  4. Collaborate closely with the JLG Asia Pacific team and global support teams to develop sales and marketing strategies for Asia. Contribute input to guide market development, sales promotion, distribution, and pricing policies to ensure successful market penetration. Assist in training distributor and rental company sales and office personnel on JLG products.
  5. Manage portfolios with key customers to ensure total customer satisfaction. Maintain effective relationships with all account principals to secure commitment and pursue sales aggressively.
  6. Recommend any changes or additions in distribution channels.
  7. Continuously gather and document competitive activity and market intelligence.
  8. Achieve sales targets for assigned accounts.
  9. Maintain ongoing communication with Ground Support, Financial Services, and Customer Support groups.
  10. Assist the JLG Service team as necessary in parts distribution, service, and warranty support.
  11. Work with sales personnel to develop existing and new user accounts.
  12. Prepare information and reports needed by JLG management.
  13. Document minutes of important meetings with distributors and prepare other reports as required in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED/BASIC:

  • College degree required
  • 10+ years of sales & marketing experience, preferably in heavy equipment or the commercial market
  • Proficiency in English
  • Experience in account and portfolio management
  • Willingness to travel

PREFERRED:

  • Experience in sales for rental companies in Japan
  • Ability to think independently and anticipate customer needs
  • Business and financial acumen
  • Technical knowledge related to the products
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Positive, energetic attitude
  • Superior customer service skills
