Job summary

Gateway Truck & Refrigeration in the Chicago area is seeking a Sales Manager to lead Carrier Transicold refrigeration, APU, and telematics sales. The role requires daily market travel and leadership of the local sales team to meet or exceed targets.

You will collaborate with executives on sales strategies, manage territories, and develop strong customer relationships to expand accounts and promote new products. A results-driven approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of sales management experience.
• Experience in transportation, trucking, or transport refrigeration preferred.
• Ability to travel within the Chicagoland market. Some overnight travel may be required.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the Chicago sales team to meet or exceed sales targets.
• Assign territories and set individual sales quotas.
• Set monthly, quarterly, and annual targets for units, gross profit, expenses, and profit.
• Work with executive leadership on sales strategies and quotas.
• Meet with customers and prospects to assess needs and recommend solutions.
• Grow existing accounts by identifying opportunities for additional products and services.
• Promote and demonstrate new products to customers and the sales team.
• Track team performance and pipeline, and take action when results fall short.
• Resolve customer complaints, staffing issues, and operational problems promptly.
• Manage hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions in line with company policy.

Gateway Truck & Refrigeration (GTR) is a growing, second-generation, family-owned dealership for Carrier Transicold, Volvo, Hino, Isuzu, and TICO, with 16 locations across Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Tennessee. We are hiring a Sales Manager to lead Carrier Transicold refrigeration, APU, and telematics sales in the Chicago area.

Key Responsibilities

• Pay range: $100,000 - $130,000 + annual performance bonuses.
