Job summary

Gateway Truck & Refrigeration (GTR) in the Chicago area is seeking a Sales Manager to lead Carrier Transicold refrigeration, APU, and telematics sales across the market. The role is full-time and involves daily travel within the Chicagoland area to grow the business and mentor the sales team.

Responsibilities include coaching the Chicago team to meet or exceed targets, setting quotas, tracking pipeline, and collaborating with executives on strategy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of sales management experience.
• Experience in transportation, trucking, or transport refrigeration preferred, but not required.
• Ability to travel within the Chicagoland market. Some overnight travel may be required.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the Chicago sales team to meet or exceed sales targets.
• Assign territories and set individual sales quotas.
• Set monthly, quarterly, and annual targets for units, gross profit, expenses, and profit.
• Work with executive leadership on sales strategies and quotas.
• Meet with customers and prospects to assess needs and recommend solutions.
• Grow existing accounts by identifying opportunities for additional products and services.
• Promote and demonstrate new products to customers and the sales team.
• Track team performance and pipeline, and take action when results fall short.
• Resolve customer complaints, staffing issues, and operational problems promptly.
• Manage hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions in line with company policy.
