Job description

Senior Group Sales Manager - Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead

Waldorf Astoria is looking for a Senior Group Sales Manager to join the leadership team at this gorgeous Atlanta property! Excellent Compensation package along with UNCAPPED bonus potential with quarterly bonus structure and option to work remote 2-days per week.

Located in one of Atlanta's most prestigious neighborhoods, this 42-story tower has over 200 rooms (127 guest rooms plus residences), over 10000 square feet of meeting space, and 3 food and beverage outlets. This includes the 3-meal restaurant, bar, and in-room dining.

In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Sales and Marketing.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills in all aspects: verbal, written, and nonverbal.
  • 3-5 years experience in a comparable position in a luxury hotel operation.
  • Excellent knowledge of all aspects of Luxury market segments.
  • Possess excellent organizational and administrative skills.
  • Quality driven with a passion for excellence in guest service and satisfaction.
  • Approachable, open-minded, and fair.
  • Willingness and capacity to learn and apply new systems.
  • Proficient in OnQ and Delphi.fdc.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience managing and/or coordinating the sales process preferably for a luxury property.
  • Previous experience working with professional sports organizations.
  • Capability to use Excel to generate and interpret data reports on business volume from sales territory and individual sales progress reports.
  • Capability to use PowerPoint beyond required presentation skills and proactively create compelling, up-to-date presentations for the sales team and other hotel departments to use in operations.

What will I be doing?

The Senior Group Sales Manager will manage and prospect for accounts as designated by the Director of Sales & Marketing to support the established sales goals for the hotel. This will require travel to assigned tradeshows, outside appointments, and management of various accounts.

  • Responsible for booking Corporate, SMERF, Professional Sports, and Association by assigned territory.
  • Thoroughly get to know the competitive marketplace.
  • Proficient product knowledge of Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead.
  • Review and discuss sales goals with Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Plan monthly site inspections and client trips and ongoing sales trips as required.
  • Create and implement strategic prospecting plans and sales action plans for review.
  • Actively participate, orchestrate, and initiate projects and meetings as required to achieve sales goals.
  • Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
  • Entertain potential and existing clientele to develop and maintain relationships.
  • Establish and maintain visibility of Waldorf Astoria Atlanta with industry accounts.
  • Methodically solicit potential clients for future business on an ongoing basis.
  • Conduct outside sales calls and highly polished presentations to current and prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure seamless service.
  • Attend hotel and industry-related functions and tradeshows.
  • Represent and cross-sell Waldorf Astoria Group properties.
  • Support WA regional sales office and maintain relationships with the team.
  • Participation in annual budget and marketing plan.
  • Participation in monthly forecasting and month-end recaps.
  • Plan and operate Familiarization visits for selected third-party meeting planner and end-user group clients.
  • Ability to take on additional tasks assigned by Director of Sales and Marketing.
