Job summary

Nordstrom in Michigan is seeking an Assistant Sales Department Manager who excels in directive selling, sets and achieves sales goals, and delivers an exceptional customer experience on the floor.

You will recruit, train and motivate a team, partner with the department manager to hit volume targets, coach staff for outstanding service, maintain merchandising standards, manage inventory, and build lasting customer relationships in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Track record of successful results and productivity.
• Competitive drive and entrepreneurial confidence in a commission-based role.
• Ability to set and achieve sales goals.
• Experience developing and maintaining productive relationships with department/store managers and leaders.
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, develop and motivate your team – their success is your success.
• Assist the department manager in achieving department volume and productivity goals by developing and executing a business plan.
• Ensure salespeople deliver outstanding customer service by teaching, coaching and leading by example.
• Work with the department manager to ensure merchandising and presentation standards are met.
• Build long lasting relationships and create a loyal customer following by actively selling on the floor.
• Assist the department manager in ensuring accurate inventory management and shrinkage goals.
