Job summary

Dealers Wholesale in Wood Dale, IL seeks a seasoned Estimator to handle Division 8, 10, and 28 products. You will takeoffs, quote projects, and develop external relationships to drive PBS revenue and gross profit.

Reports to the Director of Sales and collaborates with in-house teams, customers, and vendors. Candidates should have 5+ years in construction, strong knowledge of doors/frames/hardware and access control, project estimating experience, and proficiency with Word, Excel, and PDFs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in the construction industry required.
• Extensive knowledge of doors, frames, and hardware.
• Experience with project estimating and reviewing drawings & specs.
• Familiarity with life safety, building codes, and accessibility is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with vendors to obtain cost-effective pricing.
• Review architectural drawings and specifications.
• Provide takeoffs using a detailed, methodical approach.
• Create proposals and suggest value engineering options.
• Communicate with customers by phone, email, or jobsite visits.
• Meet bid dates and deadlines; follow up and negotiate bids.
• Provide rough openings as required and build customer relationships.

Please note this position is based in our Wood Dale, IL office.

Job Description

This position is responsible for the business development and estimating of Division 8 products (doors, frames, hardware), Division 10 products (toilet accessories, partitions, mirrors), and Division 28 products (Access Control, Cameras). The Estimator works hand in hand with various in-house departments, as well as customers and vendors, to initiate, takeoff, and quote numerous projects. This opportunity requires an individual to be intuitive and solve problems using skills acquired through experience within the construction industry.

Mission

The mission for this role is to build and maintain external relationships with customers and execute on PBS revenue and gross profit goals.

Reports to: Director of Sales

Job Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in the construction industry
• Extensive knowledge within the trade of doors, frames, and hardware is required
• Knowledge of access control and the integration with door hardware is highly preferred
• DHI Certifications (AHC, CDC, EHC, AOC) desired
• Experience in project estimating and familiarity with construction drawings & specifications
• Self-motivated, detail oriented, ability to multi-task with advanced problem-solving techniques
• Proficient communication skills with timely follow-up
