Robinson Fans, Inc. is a family-owned manufacturer of industrial air-moving equipment with locations nationwide. We are seeking an organized Sales Estimator to prepare quotes, analyze customer needs for repair, replacement, or new products, and work closely with customers and the sales team.

Your role involves reviewing inquiries, obtaining specs, and producing timely, accurate estimates and production data. Join a team focused on quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of estimating experience or extensive background in customer service or inside sales.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
• Basic math skills to calculate data and solve practical problems.
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle confidential information.
• Ability to multi-task and work within tight deadlines.

Position Summary

We are seeking an organized and motivated Sales Estimator that will provide excellent customer service and accurate estimates to our customers. The Estimator is part of our sales team and is responsible for calculating and preparing quotes, labor costs and material costs for our customers in a timely manner. This position will also work directly with our customers to analyze their needs regarding their repair, replacement, or entirely new product.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Receive and review customer inquiries and specifications.
• Obtain and interpret the necessary technical specifications for correct fan sizing(such as system specs, motor data, site packages, equipment specs, etc.) from the customer or sales rep to identify the appropriate custom-engineered product to meet their needs.
• Compile pricing, production timeline, production capability and prepare quotes to send to customers using all applicable processes.
• If necessary, view, inspect and evaluate incoming customer equipment for functionality.
• Ensure all customer pricing and quote information is stored appropriately.
• Answer and return all customer and representative inquiries and questions in a timely and helpful manner.
• Build relationships with sub-vendors to obtain accurate and prompt information.
• Communicate with the customers and External Independent Sales Representatives (EISR) to resolve any questions, concerns, or to request additional data to aid in the preparation of a quote as applicable.
• Generate sales orders when needed or present to order entry specialist for sales order generation.
• Provide all necessary information for transfer to production.
• Review and ensure that all information on customer purchase orders are accurate and match the information in internal quotation documents.
• Participate in continuous improvement, training, or other sales team events.
• Complete additional work as requested by sales leadership.
• Collaborate regularly with other departments such as drafting, purchasing and engineering.
