The successful candidate will develop quotes from blueprints, review drawings, apply cost estimates, and drive lean improvements while maintaining ISO quality focus.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating in a precision sheet metal environment.
• Strong background in Sheet Metal & Machining industries.
• Sales minded/operate in a team sales/manufacturing environment.
• Resourceful, able to research product offerings.
• Create drawings for manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Work with team to develop new processes to support KPIs.
• Develop standard work and training documents.
• Confer with Management & Production Teams on orders under 2-week due date or as needed.
• Actively seek out new business development opportunities within your portfolio of customers focused on enhancing profit margins.
• Communicate effectively with external and internal customers and suppliers.
• Review blueprints or conceptual drawings to determine operations, tools, materials, quality standards and outside processes required for the job.
• Determine cost of manufacturing the job by estimating labor times and calculating material usage.
• Initiate price inquiries for price information from potential suppliers.
• Respond to customer quotes efficiently within the customer’s time frame.
• Review repeat orders to align material and labor to prevent Margin Erosion.
• Prepare orders for processing with all pertinent information.
• Respond to customer change order requests within 24 hours and document appropriately.
• Willing to work overtime when needed.
• Maintain ISO 9001 responsibilities per Quality Manual and procedures.
• Participate actively in Lean activities.
• Contribute to company sales and marketing efforts.
• Track and chart data as needed.
• Keep KPIs up to date for Sales Manager meetings.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Other duties as assigned.
