Job summary

ACME Industries is seeking a Sales Engineer to own a portfolio of existing CNC manufacturing accounts in Elk Grove Village, IL. You will serve as the technical liaison between customers and our shop floor, coordinating quotes and guiding the order from quote through production.

You will read prints, discuss tolerances and machining sequences with engineers, and maintain strong organization and proactive customer communications. This role reports to the VP of Sales and includes full benefits.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years in a CNC contract manufacturing environment (manufacturing engineer, applications engineer, estimator, or inside sales coordinator).
• Ability to read prints, understand GD&T, and discuss tolerances, materials, and machining sequences with engineers.
• Organized, responsive, and proactive; keep customers informed on order status.

Responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of existing accounts with no cold calling or territory quotas.
• Coordinate quotes and manage the customer relationship through production.
• Ensure nothing falls through the cracks and communicate updates to customers.
• Report to VP of Sales and collaborate with shop floor.

Are you a manufacturing engineer, applications engineer, or inside sales professional with deep CNC machining roots - and you're ready to own the commercial side of complex precision manufacturing accounts?

This is a Sales Engineer role, but not a traditional sales role.

You will own a portfolio of existing accounts - no cold calling, no hunting, no territory quota. You are the technical point of contact between our customers and our shop floor. You coordinate quotes, manage the customer relationship through production, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks.

Requirements

You're a fit if you:

• Have 3-7 years in a CNC contract manufacturing environment - as a manufacturing engineer, applications engineer, estimator, or inside sales coordinator
• Can read a print, understand GD&T, and hold a conversation with an engineer about tolerances, materials, and machining sequences
• Are organized, responsive, and proactive - your customers always know where their order stands
• Want to transition into or grow within the commercial side of manufacturing without abandoning your technical roots
• Thrive in a fast-moving, collaborative shop environment where the CEO goes on customer calls and red tape is minimal

Compensation & Details

$85,000 base salary + 10% annual performance bonus ($93,500 OTE)
