Sales Engineer, Production Printing Systems

POSITION: Sales Engineer, Production Printing Systems

REPORTS TO: National Sales Manager, PPS and Strategic Alliances

LOCATION: Remote

RISO, Inc. is a leader in high-speed inkjet technology, offering cutting-edge solutions for print production environments. As a Sales Engineer for Production Printing Systems, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by expanding RISO’s presence and partnerships across the US, helping customers increase efficiency and output with our world-class print systems. The Sales Engineer will be working in tandem with the National Sales Manager and the direct sales team members located in multiple territories across the US. This position will require national travel.

Key Metrics for Success:

  • Effective communication of complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Willingness to collaborate with both customer and Riso teams
  • Help achieve annual team sales goals and unit targets for high-volume production inkjet systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise: Possess a comprehensive understanding of the company's products, services, and the production print industry.

Solution Selling: Work with the sales team to understand customer needs and develop customized solutions.

Technical Presentations: Prepare and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations to customers and prospects.

Problem Solving: Address customer inquiries and issues, providing technical support and troubleshooting.

Sales Support: Provide pre- and post-sales support to the sales team and customers.

Product Development: Collaborate with product development teams in the US and Japan to improve products and services.

EXPECTATIONS FOR TIME ALLOCATION:

  • Virtual Activities (10%): Support sales teams during Webinars and Product overviews.
  • Field Activities (50%): On-site visits for client assessments, application reviews, and closing meetings.
  • Industry Events (10%): Attend trade shows and relevant conferences.
  • Internal Collaboration (20%): Participate in training, team meetings, and planning sessions.
  • Administrative Tasks (10%): Prepare monthly activity reports, collaborate with marketing and technical teams.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: 5-10 years of technical experience within the production print industry or related field.
  • Industry Knowledge: A good understanding of print-to-mail workflows and related software including composition and optimization tools. Hands on experience with digital front ends like Fiery and Alpha Stream.
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Effective time and project management.
  • Education: Associate’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
