Job Description:

We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to become an integral part of our Sales team, reporting to the SVP of Sales. In this role, you will act as a liaison to bridge the technical needs and challenges of our customer prospects with our sales process. Additionally, you will nurture customer relationships, curate and implement pilot trials of our safety solution, conduct training, and gather feedback from customer deployments.

This role will require frequent domestic travel and occasional international travel to customers’ sites for face-to-face interactions to manage pilots, perform training and gather feedback effectively.

This position will routinely interface with Engineering for technical support, with Sales for introductions and customer interfacing, and with Marketing for product launches and improvements.

The ideal candidate will have a technical background, the ability to understand and use software systems, and be able to communicate and relate effectively with our customers and business partners.

On the job training will be provided for the purpose of becoming familiar with our full suite of solutions, if required.

  • Management of Pilot Programs
  • Develop & manage pilot agreements with customers
  • Conduct pilot solution demonstrations (remote & in-person) tailored to customer needs
  • Deploy & implement pilot programs at customer sites
  • Provide technical support to customers as required
  • Execute pilots to on-time schedules and successful outcomes
  • Perform on-site and remote training
  • Build and maintain customer relationships

Reporting

  • Use project management tools to track progress
  • Maintain list of ongoing customer feature requests
  • Provide market feedback on use cases and competition
  • Provide market feedback on pain points and unmet needs
  • Summarize and present findings to leadership & marketing

Internal Customer Interactions

  • Interface with engineering for technical support
  • Interface with sales for customer introductions
  • Report to the business development group

Required Hard Skills:

  • Technical Knowledge - You understand our solution features, its capabilities, its differentiation from the competition, and how it could work for a customer.
  • Industry Intelligence – You will keep up on information, trends, and research developments specific to our served industries. You will remain current on industry reports, safety trends and learning how competing solutions work.
  • Opportunity and Project Management – Using organization tools, you will have the ability to juggle multiple opportunities, projects, stay on track, and meet deadlines.

Required Soft Skills:

  • Verbal and Written Communication – You will work with customers, prospects, sales account executives, and product developers — and must speak the language of all of them; both written and oral.
  • Interpersonal Skills – You will be able to build a rapport with customers and must be comfortable with active listening, empathy, and adaptability.
  • Analytical Thinking – Your analytical approach will demonstrate creative thinking and problem-solving.

5+ years working in a related technology field

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

Experience in customer-facing sales (pre- and post) activities

Experience or understanding of electrical power concepts strongly preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Based on Experience ($90,000 - $150,000 base)

Compensation Package Includes these Components:

  • Salary + Key Milestone Bonus + Commission
