Job summary

Toyota Automated Logistics seeks a Field Application Engineer to promote leading automated material handling technologies and build strong relationships with industrial and distribution customers in the Seattle area.

The role is hybrid in the Seattle, WA area and requires 25% overnight travel, with a total compensation range of 120k–180k per year including base salary and commissions. Strong engineering and technical sales background preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible to work in the US long term without sponsorship.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or MET preferred).
• 2+ years work engineering experience outside of academia.
• Technical Sales experience in the industrial sector preferred.
• Material handling automation design and sales experience.
• Strong presentation abilities.
• AutoCAD experience a plus.
• Entrepreneurial and competitive personality.
• Employees must follow information security policies and report incidents.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with customers through regular visits and timely communication.
• Assess needs and present tailored automation solutions.
• Sell a wide range of products and services to meet customer requirements.
• Collaborate with Toyota Automated Logistics entities to deliver best solutions.
• Provide professional sales quotes in a timely manner.

• Pursue leads from website and suppliers to expand business.
• Keep CRM customer data current and accurate.
• Share strategic information about suppliers, customers, and competition.
• Network within territory and industry to grow opportunities.
• Master product information through ongoing training and effort.

Job Overview

A Field Application Engineer promotes the latest technologies within the Automated Material Handling industry to customers. They develop strong relationships with the industrial and distribution clients in a geographical area and provides them with exceptional material handling and automation solutions to meet their business requirements. This role allows you to work with some of the latest technologies in the ever-changing material handling field including robotics, mobile robotics, autonomous vehicles, AGV’s, and more.

This person will work hybrid in the Seattle, WA 98134 area.

Job Functions

• Develop strong relationships with our customers through timely, regular visits


• Assess needs and present solutions tailored to customer specifications


• Sell a wide variety of products and services to meet your customer's needs


• Collaborate with other Toyota Automated Logistics entities to provide the best solution to the customer


• Provide professional sales quotes in a timely manner


• Master business technology (AutoCad, CRM, Power Point presentations, etc.)


• Pursue leads from our Web Site and suppliers


• Maintain customer database information current in our CRM


• Communicate strategic information regarding suppliers, customers, and competition


• Network with business contacts within the territory and industry


• Master product information through training and personal efforts

Travel Requirements

• 25% overnight travel (expenses paid by Bastian)


• Must maintain a valid drivers license

Preferred Skills And Required Qualifications

• Must be eligible to work in the US long term without sponsorship


• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical or MET preferred)


• 2+ years work engineering work experience outside of academia


• Technical Sales experience needed, industrial sector preferred


• Material handling automation design and sales experience


• Strong presentation


• AutoCad experience a plus


• Entrepreneurial and competitive personality


• Employees must follow all information security policies, protect confidential data, complete required training, and report any suspected security incidents to support our information security controls.

Total Variable Compensation: 120-180k (consists of base salary + commission)
