Toyota Automated Logistics is seeking a Site Project Engineer for installation, commissioning, and startup of material handling systems in North America. The role requires 80% overnight travel and close collaboration with project teams to deliver safe, efficient installations.

Ideal candidates hold a 4-year engineering or construction management degree, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to read layouts and diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and PLC issues.

Qualificações

• Material Handling, Robotics, Manufacturing or Packaging background is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate closely with Project Manager and Field Application Engineer.
• Review equipment layouts and installation drawings, update as needed.
• Support RFQ development for installation contractor selection.
• Receive shipments on-site and organize the installation area.
• Develop daily Site Reports and share with project team and customer.
• Manage subcontractor personnel to meet safety, cost and schedule targets.
• Assist in safety processes to maintain a safe site, including subcontractors.
• Oversee installation, start-up, and debugging of Toyota-supplied equipment with the team.
• Assist with industrial control system debugging and equipment interfaces.
• Create and maintain installation and commissioning checklists.
• Track daily tasks and prioritize issues with the Project Manager.
• Solve technical problems individually or collaboratively.
• Communicate clearly with management and project teams.
• Diligently check voicemail and email; respond to customer requests promptly.

Site Project Engineers are the primary representatives for Toyota Automated Logistics during the installation, commissioning, and startup portions of a material handling/ automation project. Toyota Automated Logistics has a strong, 60+ year presence in the North American market, with regional sales offices located throughout the US and Canada. Toyota Automated Logistics is the lead of integrating large scale Material Handling solutions often involving Bastian’s Controls, Software, Robotics, Custom Automation, and Consulting Teams within a project.

Job Functions:

• Close coordination with Project Manager and/or Field Application Engineer as applicable.
• Assist with final review of equipment layouts and installation drawings redline and/or update installation drawings where applicable.
• Help develop and provide input into Request For Quote (RFQ) for installation contractor selection.
• On-site receiving of shipments and organization of implementation site (documenting damage, inventory equipment, preparing lay-down areas, etc.).
• Develop daily Site Reports and publish to project team and / or customer.
• Manage subcontractor personnel and hold them to Toyota and customer standards; costs and installation time based on goals / budgets received from Project Manager.
• Help implement and manage Toyota safety processes/protocol to maintain a safe work site. This includes sub-contractors hired by Toyota Automated Logistics.
• Manage the installation, start-up, troubleshooting of Toyota supplied equipment in coordination with a Bastian commissioning engineer, Project Manager, or project engineer.
• Assist in industrial control system debugging and all other equipment interfaces Toyota Automated Logistics provides when applicable. This includes assistance in equipment acceptance testing.
• Develop and maintain installation and commissioning check list.
• Maintain daily task/issues/punch list and work with project manager in developing priority ranking.
• Solve technical problems either individually or through collaboration.
• Clear and effective communication with management, engineering, project management and other team members.
• Check and use voicemail and e-mail diligently.
• Respond to customer requests in a timely manner.

Travel Requirements:

• 80% overnight travel (Travel expenses paid by Toyota Automated Logistics)

Required Qualification and Preferred Skills:

• 4-year Engineering or Building Construction Management Degree
• Strong interpersonal skills required
