Job summary

The Ash Group is seeking a Sales Engineer in Richardson, TX to join our team supporting optical networks for carriers, data centers, and utilities. You will design and validate solutions with sales, lead small to mid-size network design projects, and deliver demonstrations or POCs.

This full-time onsite role offers a competitive salary and opportunities to work with multi-vendor technology. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of relevant experience, strong knowledge of optical networking and L2/L3

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of optical products and design principles.
• Basic understanding of L2/L3 packet network services.
• Experience supporting or selling OEM optical/networking products (preferred).
• Knowledge of optical fiber principles and network design.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team in the planning, design, and operation of customer optical networks.
• Work with sales teams to design and develop winning and profitable solutions.
• Validate customer requests and requirements for network hardware, software, and functionality.
• Participate in sales discussions over audio/web conference or in live meetings.
• Lead and coordinate small to medium scale network design projects.
• Perform demonstrations or POC's over web conference or live meetings.
• Win the confidence of colleagues and client prospects as an expert technical resource.
• Assist sales in pricing, proposing, and SOW creation.
• Interface with other departments regarding product development and implementation.
• Provide timely project updates to internal engineering and project managers.

Summary

The Ash Group is hiring a Sales Engineer (24686) for our client who designs, deploys, automates, and manages high-capacity, multi-vendor optical and packet transport networks for carriers, data centers, and utilities. This is a full time position working in Richardson, TX (onsite). We are offering a salary up to 110-115K based on skill set.

What You'll Be Doing

• Work with a team in the planning, design, and operation of customer optical networks

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
• Optical Networking: Intermediate-level knowledge of optical products and design principles; basic understanding of L2/L3 packet network services.
• Preferred candidates to have direct experience supporting or selling OEM optical/networking products.
• Intermediate level knowledge of Optical Fiber Principles including: optical fiber transmission, modes, attenuation, dispersion, and signal integrity
